12 Days::Unplug

12 Days of Holiday Peace, day seven: Unplug...

Have you noticed that the pace of things in blog-land slows down considerably on the weekends? Fewer comments. Fewer posts. I've grown to appreciate it. And so today, this last Saturday before Christmas, let's uplug.

Push yourself away from the blogs, the television, the emails, the texting, the tweets and Facebook updates. Try it for an hour, the morning, or one full day. Reinvest the time you would have spent facing a screen and give that face time to those you love.

Enjoy the peace today. I'll see you here tomorrow for day eight.

This is a wonderful idea. I do this most weekends so I can give my full attention to my love ones around me. As for today I was waiting for something to finish baking and happen to have my computer on (for the recipe) and took peek to check in. Enjoy your weekend my friend. xo

I've noticed it slows down on weekends, and even more so these past few days when people must be finishing up whatever they need to do. Whew, that was a long sentence.

I'm fine for unplugging. Take Care, and enjoy the weekend! :)

Thanks. I shall follow your advice and light a fire very soon. Grab a book and see if I can get the twins to join me.

Things do slow down and the temptation diminishes as well. I spent the day doing things around the house while my husband was away and then gave some time to my mother-in-law. It was a good day. I love that you're reminding us of all the obvious things that we have so long ago let slip away.

I unplugged and went shopping and then made a few presents and then watched a cheesy Christmas movie on the Hallmark channel. That's unplugged for sure.

I was totally unplugged until now. I will be mostly unplugged during the Christmas and up through New Years. Headed to Jersey to spend time with Mom and the family. xoxo

Deidra, Life is more SPACIOUS since slowing down and decluttering. I am learning that God needs empty space to move into our lives with his stuff. If we are so FULL, with every minute scheduled, we miss so much.

On the same wavelength up here in Canada.

Peace!

I'm getting ready to push away and unplug now...time as I said on today's post to be with my family and do the things that will give me peace & pleasure. With the elder one only home until the weekend of New Year's, I want to be as connected and mindful as possible in each day!

About This Blog

I had this childlike faith for such a long time. It was good for tests in school, eating brussel sprouts, and getting my Daddy to give me a quarter when the ice cream truck came through.

But that faith didn't grow up until one dark night in an ugly place when I found myself at the end of myself and I didn't have anyplace to turn but to Jesus and He said, "I have loved you with an everlasting love..."

And I believed Him.
